about

On 8 September 2000 Beequeen played live at the Musik Frei Nach Beuys festival at Schloss Moyland in Kranenberg, Germany. The concert was a tribute to the works of German Fluxus artist Joseph Beuys who gave Beequeen their name in 1988 (Beequeen translates at ‘Bienenkönigin” in German – a name used by Beuys for one of his artworks). The concert, which took place in the woods near Schloss Moyland, was recorded and released as yellow vinyl LP by Beta Lactam Ring Records in America in 2002. A total of 120 copies in a deluxe box were made including inserts and leaves collected from the actual site of performance. Due to a pressing mistake 200 additional copies of the LP were pressed on clear vinyl. These were given a new cover and did not contain the leaves. The concert and our stay at Schloss Moyland is fondly remembered.
